London Fog Latte (how to incorporate it to your gentle morning)

When you’re in the mood for something different other than coffee for your mornings a London fog latte never fails nor disappoints and you can make this warm comforting indulgence from the comfort of your own home and in your pajamas :)

A few tips on how you can enjoy this recipe:

We don’t always have the availability of gentle mornings, in fact nowadays I dare say they have become some kind of a luxury. So when all stars align and you have the opportunity to have a slow morning, take advantage of every minute of it and enjoy it to the fullest. In this particular scenario when talking about a slow morning instead of coffee you can get your caffeine fix in a special foamy London fog latte.

1.Stay in bed a little longer

First of all waking up but not getting out of bed right away is one of the few things I would like to do more often. You can use this time to pray, writing on your journal, contemplate your plans for the day or simply scroll down on your phone. Once you have enjoyed the comfort of your bed without any rush, you can simply get your favorite warm robe and slippers to go to the kitchen.

2. Make a nice ambiance in your kitchen

Something that I didn’t know that could make such a difference in my mornings is gentle lighting. For some reason lamps or indirect light always makes the space feel cozier like a warm welcome to the space. So you bet that in my kitchen I have my favorite cordless lamp and a night light to play and ambiance in my space were during all other mornings it can get hectic pretty fast. Music is optional at this point, some people enjoy their quiet mornings and others like to play something low in the background. I do both depending on where my mood is at that particular morning.

3. Use you favorite tea gadgets

So once you have your lighting going on go to your coffee/tea bar and start making your London fog latte! Use your favorite mug and if you want to elevate the whole experience put your kettle or boil some water on your stove to pour on your favorite tea set, or you can also use your favorite tea infuser there are some really cute ones out there not expensive and catered to every style :) If you would like to know the best simple way to set up your little coffee tea bar at home click here.

4. Go to your favorite cozy spot

Everybody needs a personal favorite comfort spot at their own home, contrary to common believe you don’t need a big house or spend hundreds of dollars to make this place come to life. Most of the necessary elements to make this come true you already have at home or if you want to start from scratch there are some budget friendly alternatives to make this happen. So once you have your latte go to your spot and depending on the light in the morning you can light your candle and enjoy your drink.

5. Don’t forget to slow down

Last but not least slow down while enjoying your drink, it happens to me more than I like to admit where the day to day you can get so involved in the busy schedules that your eating and drinking at a fast pace have become second nature. So remember to slow down, enjoy every sip there is no rush on this particular morning and remember that luxury sometimes just means to simply have time to enjoy your little pleasures.

There are a few simple ingredients for this recipe and we shall start right away:

  • Black tea/London fog/Earl grey tea bag: you can use any type of black tea bag feel free to use your favorite brand

  • Hot water: to steep the tea bag

  • Milk of choice: You can use any kind of milk you want but you know me and I almost always recommend my beloved soy milk :)

  • Non calorie sweetener: Splenda goes great with this recipe

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Get 1 cup of hot water and place you black tea bag on the cup and let it steep for 2-3 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea. I foung that for that perfect balance between the tea and the milk wothout overpowering each other 2 minutes its the magic number :)

  2. while your tea is steeping add your sugar free alternative to your tea. the hot temperature will help dissolve it and thus getting a homogenous mixture as a result.

  3. get your cup of milk of your choice, so as you can tell we will make an equal ratio between milk and tea to crete that perfect balance beteween the two. Warm your milk until you hit that desired nice hot temperature, of you are like me and want to do the quick route 1 min in the microwave should be enough. If you want to go the extra mile, use a frother to make your milk nice and frothy I promise you it makes all the difference. Nothing beats the velvety texture that you will gain with this extra step.

  4. Finally add your milk to your hot tea give it a quick stir and enjoy!

To enjoy it cold:

after the first step of steeping your tea bag for 2 minutes let it cool completely you can speed up this process by placing it on the fridge for 15 minutes and adding ice to your liking afterwards. As for the milk you can just froth it while cold to get your desired texture but without the need to warm it. Although if you want to experiment you can still warm your milk and add it to your cold tea, the difference in temperatures makes a nice contrasting experience.

I hope that these tips and recipe helps you to enjoy your slow morning to the fullest :)

Kindly ♡
