The easiest way to do latte letter art (no fancy equipment needed)

Hello everyone! So with the sweater weather coming up so do the hot drinks cravings, and since coffees and lattes are a thing I thought it would be a good opportunity to share with you how to make a simple letter art for your favorite latte! To give it a little extra for those insta cute latte pics ;)

The best thing about this is that you don’t need any fancy equipment to achieve a nice latte letter, most of the tools needed are already in your kitchen all you need is your basic small hand frother to have your milk foam to top your drink and add your art to it. So here it goes!

MATERIALS:

  1. Your favorite latte drink

  2. Hand frother

  3. Instant coffee

  4. A few ml of hot water

  5. Tooth pic

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Once you have your favorite latte base ready, grab your milk of choice (about 60 ml of milk) and heat it in the microwave for about 1 minute

  2. With your instant coffee and a few ml of water create a very dark mixture as this would be used as your “paint” for your letters in your latte. Of course you can have fun with this step and have several shades of brown if you want to create a more elaborate letter art, just remember to have a separate toothpick for each color as to not mix your shades when your applying it to your milk foam.

  3. Once heat it immediately use your hand frother to star your foaming process. The easiest way to achieve this is to have your frother not to deep in the milk but also not to at the top either as this will create big bubbles. We want to place it in the middle portion of your milk and a good way to tell that is at a good level is to see a small vortex in your milk as this creates the tiny bubbles that will give your that foamy texture that we want to achieve, so remember to always look for that magic vortex :)

  4. Once you have your perfectly frothed milk grab your toothpick and my recommendation is to start small with very thin lines as to create a guideline to later go back with your toothpick with more coffee mixture and add more color to your design.

  5. A few tips to a better achievement for your latte letter art is to choose in the beginning on or two simple words that can fit in to your cup, work at a quick pace since the more time it takes your frothed milk will start to loose volume but all in all remember to have fun with it all and if for some reason you don’t achieve it the first time, well it’s a nice excuse to have more latte ;)

Hope you enjoy this little protect and brings a smile to your face :)

Kindly,

Tayde
